This Weekend, We All Play

Something Big Kicks Off This Friday in Puerto Real. It’s not just a football tournament. It’s a spark of life, a celebration, a chance to come together. For months now, Marea Viva has been walking alongside those who arrived with stories, courage, and dreams. And on Friday, July 4th, one of those dreams takes shape… in the form of a ball.

We’re taking part with our two teams, El Pinar Futsal I and El Pinar Futsal II, in the 5th Football Marathon organized by C.D. Unión Los Amigos Río San Pedro—an event that celebrates sport as a bridge for community and connection.

These two teams are made up of brave young people who have crossed half the world in search of a place to start over. This weekend, they’ll take part in their first tournament. It will take place at the Luis Beardo Sports Grounds (next to the Sala de Barrio in Río San Pedro): Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (approx. from 8:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.). Three days of football, emotion, and heart.

But this goes beyond the scoreboard. It’s about feeling at home, seeing in every glance a gesture of welcome, planting bonds that last longer than a match. It’s about being present, showing up, and letting them know that here, too, they can build a future.

They’ve trained with commitment, with passion, with that fire that lights up when someone believes in you. And now, your support matters—being there, cheering, applauding. Because when they feel backed, everything shifts. And with each moment, each hug, each smile, we take a step toward something much bigger than sport.

Come. Fill the stands. Bring your energy. Bring your voice. Puerto Real has a date with joy, strength, and dignity. Let it be heard loud and clear: here, we all play.
